Deutsche Bahn/International Rail press release
International Rail Ltd (IRL) are delighted to announce the signing of a General Sales Agent agreement with Deutsche Bahn AG (DB). This partnership will further formalise the existing strong relationship between IRL and DB and will provide a more strategic focus on global sales of German rail.
Both IRL and DB recognise the strong growth in interest in rail travel as a result of the change in traveller habits due to the global pandemic and a drive to use sustainable modes of transport. Our new partnership will provide TMC’s, Tour Operators and Travel Agencies outside of Germany with access to systems to book all domestic German rail, with all the pre and post sales support needed from IRL’s award-winning UK and European call centres.
Speaking about the new partnership, Rod Maton, CEO stated ‘we are extremely pleased to sign this partnership with DB, a company with whom we have a shared vision to drive rail travel growth through all of our markets. As two companies committed to creating customer focussed solutions, we are excited about the many advantages such a partnership can offer to the market’.
Alexander Mokros, Head of DB International Partnerships & Industry Partners, said: “We are pleased to expand the partnership with our long-standing distribution partner International Rail Ltd. Due to International Rail’s outstanding railway business expertise and the company’s excellent infrastructure, we are certain that this partnership will open up numerous opportunities in new markets, making DB tickets easily-available to even more customers.”
